چکیده

Nanophotonics—the science and technology of confining, guiding, making photons interact with matter at the nanoscale—is an active research field. By varying geometry constituent materials, nanostructures allow precise control scattering incident light tailoring emitted light. In this Tutorial, we outline use Maxwell equations to model optical response nanostructures. This electromagnetic optics approach uses refractive indices materials as input. For most nanostructure geometries, analytical solutions are not available. Therefore, discuss computational methods for solving numerically. These us simulate nanostructures, needed design optimization analysis characterization results.

Hybrid 2D Material Nanophotonics: A Scalable Platform for Low-Power Nonlinear and Quantum Optics

Two-dimensional, atomically thin materials offer unique physical properties, such as a large second-order optical nonlinearity. Integrating these materials into a scalable and silicon-compatible platform could provide a pathway toward realizing low-power nonlinear optics. We have presented a formalism to calculate the effective nonlinear optical coefficient for a cavity integrated 2D material s...
